Quick Start Guide

Fast, Precise Course Design and Selection

RegattaLog Course Maker lets an organizer design and publish courses with weather -based analysis. Read the guide, this quick start guide, or use the Walkthrough links to get started.

Go to the login page to log in. If you don't recall your password, use the forgot password link. Then use the Course Maker link to get to the tool.

Pick your Organizing Authority

From the home or dashboard page, pick your organization (Test is always available). Contact the administrator if you need your organization created.

Create your Regatta

Use the dropdown regatta select to either pick an existing regatta or create one. Use the Walkthrough to learn your configuration options.

Edit Your Courses

On the regatta edit page, click the "Add New Course" button. Then edit it (or edit an existing course). Pan the chart to cover your race area. This selects the local marks. Assign your marks with the dropdowns, and assign which way each mark is rounded or passed.  Be sure to set a start and finish! Click "Submit" to save your edits.

Create/Add Marks

To create a new mark, click on a government mark if there is one, or just click anywhere on the chart and tap the "Click to create a mark" popup. That opens the mark edit pane. Name the mark, select its description and type. A mark at a specific location is a "fixed mark." See the guide or walkthrough for a further description.

Analyze

Visit the analysis page to see how selected boats or classes will do on your courses. This is good for planning and for race-day decisions.

Publish

Visit the "Share" page to get links to a public course page, a plain version for inclusion in a website or on a kiosk. The page also includes links for downloading the courses in Word (good for sailing instructions), csv or xml (good for Expedition).
