While the primary emphasis is making signups easy for participants (there are so many of them!), this service is designed for organizer ease-of-use as well.

Generally, signup information is collected from participants as a "sale" of an entry, and their payment by credit card is collected and remitted to the organizer on an agreed schedule, less costs.
